Alpaca Rug--when we brought in Alpamayo as a new yarn I thought it would be fun to knit an Alpaca Boucle rug from all the mill ends using a pattern I found in Donna Druchunas' book The Knitted Rug. So a year later, this is how far I have gotten. It won't fit on our round oak coffee table any more -- It's as big as my small oriental carpet -- but nowhere near the room sized masterpiece I envisioned. I'd love to say I ran out of yarn but that would be impossible ...

Here is a hat knit from Plymouth Yukon in a variegated and a solid color modeled by my husband, Terry. I knit the brim double thick in a rib and the rest of the hat just one thickness. When my husband complained that it didn't have ear flaps, I knit those on, too and then he wanted a neck warmer in the back. Needless to say, this is a designer original and it took both hanks of the Yukon.
